It's seems to be hard to do a right choice with this deadly-looking sharp blade between MC and Sylrissa...
But unstoppable force of Can I romance her? should overcome such minor obstacle, shouldn't it?
P.S. In beta she made very good impression, so welcome to the newborn Sylrissa fanclub

Re: development thread
I just got the edited version of a scene with Karen meeting the other party members in a special occasion. As you can see our beloved naga makes another great first impression
Karen "And you, handsome young woman? What is your name?"
Nuala "Nuala, my Queen. Ehm, I mean, Queen Karen."
"Did Nuala just blush? She seems flustered. Well, considering how Karen is looking at her, I can understand it."
Karen "Your build is excellent, Nuala. You put some of my amazons to shame."
Nuala "Th-thank you."
"Haha, she is melting right now. Leena doesn't look too happy though."
Sylrissa "She's young. Your build is even better, queen Karen."
Leena "Sylrissa!"
"Karen laughs, and then gestures for the two nagas to come forward."

Re: development thread
More good news, I've finished to write the two naga rescue missions, got them already edited/proofread and I'm coding them now:
Hazel is an old enemy of Enok/Sylrissa. Yes all nagas are superbeautiful, it's a racial trait!

Re: development thread
Today fully scripted Enok's rescue quest. Some highlights:
Also, remember when I said this game probably would end up being 250,000 words? I was wrong. It's already at 220k and I still need to write half of naga romances, half of Jasper's, several main plot scenes + endings I think it will very likely end up close to 300k!!

Re: development thread
Truth be told, none of the WW rpgs are particularly long due to the way they are structured. It's not necessarily a bad thing since it can eliminate the bloat/time wasters that many of its ilk have, especially with the time spent traveling.
That being said, most people who think games need 50+ hours are more likely younger people who have a more free time.

Re: development thread
I generally look for games to give me about an hour per dollar spent, but if the game is really good I can kind of look past the price, but I am most certainly not going to pay $60 for a game that is 8 hours long. And oh by the way, I am almost 50 years old, so no it is not just the younger generation that wants value per dollar.
Now that said, if I have to choose between game A that will give 200 hours of play, but mediocre satisfaction and game B that will give 20 hours of play, and thorough satisfaction and game A is $60 and game B is $30-$40 dollars, I will tend towards game B.

Yes both as player and developer I don't like much forced grinding. Optional, sure (many players love it lol) but if it's required, even on easy level, I don't like it
As player the playing time honestly was never a factor for me in buying a game. The games I enjoyed mostly are life is strange/telltale/etc and they are all pretty short (less than 10-12h probably). But people still pay... well over 10-12 euros here to go see a movie which lasts 2 hours (or less) and sometimes it's not even fun, so...

Re: development thread
Older platformers can be completed in 8 hours or less. Side-scrolling shooters and beat-em-ups are typically even shorter. Of course, this assuming that the skill/effort is there. I don't see it purely in hours, I think the game's pacing and what the player is able to get out of it matters much more. I don't like it when a game ends abruptly making feel unfinished, but I also don't like attempts at padding a game to make it longer than necessary.

Re: development thread
Today finished adding some main plot regarding a big battle towards end of act 2, plus sent Sylrissa's storyline to the editor. Script currently it's at 241k. There is left: Enok/Jasper romance (though some scenes are done) and the whole act3 main plot. I think won't end up being 300k words, but above 260k probably yes
