Troyen wrote:Something is bugged on Madness then.
Spoiler:
Pre-Madness cast: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/407 ... dness1.png
Post-Madness cast: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/407 ... dness2.png (not shown: 10 debuff turns remaining)
Works even better on Naga Mercenaries. "Oh, you buffed yourself to have 282 speed? Well, you have 1 speed now!"
It looks to me like Madness is still bugged. All the snakes' stats went down to 1 in one turn. The snake had scared inflicted on it, but that shouldn't affect speed nor magic. Plus, the scared debuff cleared out after the first turn of Madness and still the stats were at 1. So basically the same thing happening with snakes as it was with those guys in Troyen's post.

EDIT: I thought I saw it working like it should in one Act 4 fight earlier (ie not dropping all stats to 1 immediately), but I'm not so sure anymore... o.O

Screenshots are nice, but... saves???
I think it interacts with another skill since is not possible that does that "all on its own". Besides if that was the case it would ALWAYS be bugged, instead as you said it happens only in particular situation. The next time you see doing this, please send the save :) thanks

Rofl, now I'm seeing it doing it all the time. Maybe I just imagined the situations where it worked? I don't know anymore. o.O
I sent you a save, anyway, not on snakes because it seems that I don't have that saved after all.. <.< >.> Anyway, demons' and undead werewolves' stats go to 1 with one zap. Works differently when the enemies zap me.

Haha, I am trying your saves and they work fine here. This is going to be an "interesting" bug to fix

I guess I'll dig into the battleLogs next, then.

EDIT: Sent another save. Should I now bet money for it to show up normal on your side?

EDIT2: CombatLog says this:

Rowinda hit Undead Werewolf B for 13 Dark damage using Madness.
The Condition will expire in 10 turns
Magic decreased by 125 %
Defense decreased by 130 %
Attack decreased by 125 %
Speed decreased by 125 %
Rowinda inflicted Madness Effect on Undead Werewolf B

No other conditions on the monster.

Does the behaviour change when you restart the game? (Completely closing the application to rerun init code)?
If yes then that's the bug I found.

Indeed it does. So what triggers it? I don't want to go through these battles via cheating with a bugged Madness.

I restarted the games and now it doesn't go to 1. CombatLog makes more sense, too:

Rowinda hit Undead Werewolf B for 13 Dark damage using Madness.
The Condition will expire in 10 turns
Magic decreased by 5 %
Defense decreased by 10 %
Attack decreased by 5 %
Speed decreased by 5 %
Rowinda inflicted Madness Effect on Undead Werewolf B

Oh....When I inflict the next MAdness on the next monster it says:
Rowinda hit Plague Demon for 10 Dark damage using Madness.
The Condition will expire in 10 turns
Magic decreased by 10 %
Defense decreased by 15 %
Attack decreased by 10 %
Speed decreased by 10 %

So the next Madness effect starts directly from round 2? Is that it?

We change a class variable instead of an instance variable. So the changes every turn are cumulative for every instance of the effect. In addition the changes are only applied when you cast the next effect since only the instance variables are looked up and since those were only set during cast...
During start up the class variables are overwritten from their definition in the file so the changes are reset. That's why the effect doesn't have the cumulative change when the save is loaded in a different program.
At the moment there is no way to circumvent that. Unfortunately you'll have to wait for a patch.

K, thanks, got it! I gotta play nice with the Madness until then. :) Good thing it doesn't work on Bosses...

Yeah, note to self: Don't attempt
Spoiler:
Dark Wizard's Cabal
Boss fight without restarting the game first. Getting all your stats reduced to 1 for 9 turns does not make for a fun fight.
