Nice artwork! Nevertheless it makes me wonder... The biggest vulnerability of a difficult to reach fortress on a mountain top is food. Not only is there lack of space for farms, but crops don't grow well in rocky soil. So food must be brought to the city over those same narrow paths which can be easily cut off, from either side. If I were an enemy general I wouldn't assault their defenses directly. I'd starve them into submission instead. I wonder how the Amazons address the food issue. I suppose they could use their griffins as freight planes, lol, but to feed an entire city would require a lot of griffin flights, and an equally well defended source of food.

That image is very old, was done as test comic when I was deciding what art style to use (it was 2011!) and doesn't reflect the actual Citadel: indeed the Amazon area it's more like a small island, and there is enough space for farms/vineyards. Also it's on the sea and connected to land just by a small rocky bridge. So worse case there's always fishing.
Otherwise would be too easy to defeat the Amazons
