Hi all.
I have tried to purchase Roommates but when I go to the following link http://www.winterwolves.com/buy.php?prod=17030063, all I get is a white page with nothing on it.
Is anyone else experiencing the same thing?
Kind regards

Re: Can't purchase Roommates
You're victim (even not knowingly) of some brilliant "hacker pirates" who thought to screw up with your computer DNS with a program called "howler.exe" which infects your computer. That's the only reason why you'd get a white page.
Try without the www. sometimes it works. But get a virus scanner or your computer fixed.
Anyway you can buy it from here: https://secure.bmtmicro.com/servlets/Or ... D=17030063

Hi jack1974. Thanks for the response. Removing the www. made it work. It is quite worrying that I have been infected though. How malicious is this "howler.exe" and should a decent anti-virus get rid of it quite easily?

When searching for "howler.exe" the first few entries mention winterwolves games specifically, and sometimes one of your games. Did someone really hate you so much to write Malware targeted at you?
Sorry if OT.

Re: Can't purchase Roommates
I have no clue how that works honestly, since of course I never tried to install it myself
Maybe has no malware on it, but considering it modifies your computer DNS , is not exactly "safe". For example they could redirect you to a fake paypal site and steal your password easily if they wanted.
I think that it modifies a file called httpd.conf or something, so once uninstalled if you restore that file should work, but never bothered to do much research on it. I guess people should ask them, they must know what they did
