Official game thread

Post by jack1974 »

The game is officially out! It's a mix between a dating sim game, with the classic scheduler, and a farming sim game (clean weeds, buy seedlings, plant them, grow them up, sell them). Nine different endings, one alone, and two variants for each of the four girls depending if you do well enough in the farming sim.

Played it through! Got about half the endings (one with each girl except Marian, and the solo one).

Really enjoyed it. Very cute and organic; I felt like I was in an interactive story (I know, visual novel...) with some actual emotional depth and very sweet, touching pieces. The background music was excellent, the art was gorgeous, and all the girls are neat-o. Susana's not quite my cup of tea, but still very cute.

The only thing is I wish it had some sort of gallery to save some of the pictures you unlock as the story progresses, like the kiss scenes or some of the little portraits.

Minor quibble is that when replaying it a couple times for different endings, I wish the story for each girl had a few more unique things. (I am not quite sure I am explainign this correctly). Even though I enjoy each girl's unique ending, I wish there were a few more small stories/choices you could make based on other choices, like hooking Trent up with Marian after the 'what's wrong with liking older women?' comment, or encouraging Clara's hanger-on (Jacob?) to pursue Susana. Even though it gets told at the very end, I'd feel more complete if I played a bigger part in that.

All in all, I enjoyed this game very much and will be recommending it to friends.

Thanks for the comments. About the endings with the boys/other characters, we're thinking about doing a sequel/alternate version like "Flower Shop: girl side" in which you'll control a girl (not one of those four, a new one) and pursue the boys so you might also influence other relationships more.

Interesting! If it's as well done as Flower Shop, I'll definitely be looking forward to it!

Well the team would be the same (artist, writer, programmer) so I hope should be as flower shop if not better

I just finished playing through this game, and I want to compliment the creators on writing some beautiful moments. This had just enough interaction to make it more than reading a story, and is a true compliment to the visual novel genre. Some of the endings were incredibly sweet, with Susana's hitting me the hardest so far.

Kudos to you, and I look forward to future games.

I liked the game, however I prefer the more "adult" themes / situations present in your other games like Bionic Heart. This game is cute, well written, but clearly aimed at women

What can I say, I'm a sucker for chick flicks? Maybe the only guy out there. *shrug*

I enjoyed Bionic Heart, but it turned into a lot of record keeping in order to get some of the endings. But yeah, the mature themes were nice.

Well what I meant really is, that most of those "classic" Japanese VNs are very similar, not in story, but in the kind of situation you can expect.
Bionic Heart to me was really revolutionary, blade runner style, etc!
And the many endings, even if some were a pain to reach, only added to the longevity of that great game.
Yes, I'm a fan
