Bionic Heart is a space opera - that is, it has science fiction settings but has also romance and relationships going through the story.

And don't worry the game has been written by native english writers this time! :)

To get more info about the game, visit http://www.bionicheartgame.com

Or go to straight page download links: http://www.tycoongames.eu/adventures/bionicheart.php

The game has 24 unique endings and some require really some thinking, so probably expect some sort of guide/walkthrough in next weeks :)

I love this game! I think is your best so far. I am also a big fan of Blade Runner, so... :)

I am having troubles to find all the endings though. Any chance of some walkthrough? please...
jack1974
Well writing walkthrough for everyone is quite long!! I'll skip the most obvious ones, like the 3 you can get in demo already.

I'll come up in next days with a new thread with some useful tips and the full list of endings (with spoiler tag of course)!

Imagine...

A game where every decision you make can truly make a difference.

A game where those decisions not only effect you but those around you.

A game where friendships can be made or broken.

A game where being in the right place at the right time can make all the difference as can being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

A game that will draw you into another world with its stunning visuals and audio.

A game with a powerful story filled with people you care about.

A game that will make you experience a broad spectrum of emotions with the highest of highs and the lowest of lows.

A game you'll never forget.

So it is of little surprise that Bionic Heart is my favourite game as it was all of these things.

Thanks a lot for the moral support. As a game author you know how important is to get it! 8)

Another vote for this game. It quickly became my favourite Sci-fi adventure game ever!

Is there any chance of a sequel? You know I would pay even $30 to get a new episode!!
jack1974
Lol $30 per game sounds cool!

Jokes apart, I might, but surely not this year, I have too many other projects going on! sorry

While replaying Bionic Heart last night I first saw the scene of Tanya on the virtual beach. Wow! The slow pan was just beautiful.

very respectfully,

That scene is really awesome! Probably the "best view" of the whole game!

I finally saw Helen in the game where she's wearing her swim suit. :good:

Cool, that one is nice as well ;)

Just a general question. I'm doing a Let's Play of Bionic Heart on another forum.

Is there a way to extract the text from the program? It would save me time from having to type everything.
jack1974
Yes, though it will output it based on the filenames and not the normal order you see in the story, so could be all messed over :)

http://www.sendspace.com/file/whg38r is a rpyc file to place inside the game/ directory alongside the other, it should produce a dump_text.txt in the game folder with all game texts.
abnaxus
Thank you.

EDIT: well, it doesn't seem to work. Is it normal it's such a small file (> 1 kB)? A dump.txt file is created, but there's no text in it.
jack1974
Hmm I haven't tried it with the new version of Ren'Py indeed (that script is quite old). Wait, I have executed it here, so here's the text dump: http://www.sendspace.com/file/u0wt1b

Thanks again.

Just wondering, what are the inspirations/influences for Bionic Heart?

As far as visual novels go, the theme is pretty unique, the only other game with similar themes I can think of are Desire and Critical Point (Japanese 90s adventure games).
jack1974
Well, for sure Blade Runner as you can imagine :) Then also "I, Robot" by I.Asimov and "Neuromancer" by W.Gibson.

Something I noticed when browsing Desura:

You did put two pictures twice on the Desura page for the game (elderly scientist and you may call me Julia). Ist there any intention in this?
jack1974
Uh no, probably just a mistake when I uploaded the images :)
