I made a specific subforum for this game too
I'll also post updates about art and writing!
For writing, I want to quote this part from one of the early Kamal scenes. Kamal is an ex-gladiator, and he encounters two young kids pretending to fight in an Arena. Ka is when Kamal speak and the narrator is Marcel, the main character:
boy "I'm Amukiki, champion of the Grimoire Arena!"
"The boy puffs out his chest and flexes his non-existant muscles for effect."
ka "Ah, Amukiki. Good choice."
ka "You know, I actually got the chance to fight Amukiki. Got his autograph too."
"Kamal points to one of the scars on his arm-- the afore mentioned autograph."
ka "He gave me this one here."
"The boy's eyes go wide in obvious excitement."
boy "Really? You fought Amukiki and didn't die?"
"Kamal laughs."
ka "Not even once."
"I roll my eyes as the boy laughs at Kamal's bad joke."
ka "He did beat me pretty soundly though."
boy "That's awesome!"
ka "It didn't feel very awesome at the time, but yeah, I guess it is kind of awesome."
girl "Are you a gladiator then? I-I mean, that would make the most sense if you fought Amukiki."
ka "I was. I'm not anymore."
boy "Why'd you stop?"
ka "I got a better deal."
"He keeps the explanation at that. I get the feeling there is more to it though considering how quickly he changes the subject."
I quite like when there are cross references like this between my games
and in general I like SilverHyena writing
I should have some finished sprites to show early next month!

Is this game going to be part of the Aravorn setting, or are you just using Amukiki's name as a placeholder/in-joke?

No it's a fantasy yaoi dating sim and takes place in Aravorn for real. There are several various references to other characters/places/lore in general since writer knows my games well

Ah that's cool how it's set in Aravorn, the medieval/fantasy setting has always been my favourite (then sci-fi then modern settings)

I really like the scene and I can't wait to see more (I hope we can see the final sprite for Kamel,Marcel and Licia soon).
My only problem is that I'll need a little time to get use to Marcel has a name.
When you tell me that someone is call marcel, I think of a old man with a beret playing petanque with his friends while drinking bear

We haven't spoken exactly about the placement in the timeline but after the first Loren since we talk about Hawke blade and the swords were found only in the first game. But might be also after Loren 2-3, not necessarily between

I really like them and the fact that 2 of them have kiss.
and while I like Kamal,the "I kiss your hand" can be really good or really bad but that depend more on the writing then the art and from what I have seen I don't think SylverHiena will disapoint me.

Yeah as much as I would personally love to throw money at him, jack doesn't make the mistake of asking for pre-orders for games that he doesn't even know the release date of.

Haha yes, I know other indies do, but unless I have already at least the whole script done, I don't do preorders
Anyway, even if there's still a lot of writing left, things are going rather well with this game

Good, really looking forward to it, I don't know if I should be saying this, but the man reason I didn't bought Roommates is because I didn't find Rakesh up to my tastes, I liked Dominic, but over the years I got tired of cross playing in order to get the character I liked, so thank you for making this game and not forgetting this niche of your market, I will do all I can to spread the word so this games becomes really successful and with hope it will be the first of many Male slash oriented games.

Yeah with just 1 romance option I can understand that it can happen. I already plan to do more yaoi games in future though

I know how you feel. Sally was a Vegan, animal loving, activist. Lol. My gaydar always goes off for straight characters, but Isabela was really awesome. And I haven't seen a bisexual character deal with their sexuality so well in a long time. I played the Rakesh route with Max after and it is pretty sweet but the beginning can be hard especially since one of your first interactions with him is a kiss to impress ogling drunk girls XD It seemed harder to play Max as gay than Anne as a lesbian.
Jack, it really is great! I mean super kudos for doing it. And it is nice that you really put in the effort that I have never seen anyone else do when it comes to this stuff. Bioware are the only ones who even try and you have been having gay characters and trying to balance it more than even their triple A budgets. It may seem small but it can mean the world to play a game and not feel excluded from whole genres. Thank you. Can't wait to play.

I was also dissapointed by Roommates LI option, only one BxB option and he wasn't my type but after playing the game I end up liking him , and it was the same for all the other characters.
I didn't expect that I would love the game that much and that I would enjoy all the romance option but I wish there were more BxB and GxG option.

I'm not sure if it's that, but might also be related to the artwork? I admit that the artist I used draws females better than males
that's why I picked another one for Heirs & Graces.
