Having played Loren 1 (Great game, BTW) and seeing more then a few of the romance scenes at the end I feel the need to ask two things about Loren 2's romantic scenes.



1: Level of Nudity. While I know this wasn't a full on, adult sex game I was expecting a bit more. I'm not saying full on genitalia, but more bare chests from the females. What is the planned level?



2: Amount of Images. All the scenes were really one image, starting with a close up then panning out (Save Loren's own). Is there going to be more images per scene, letting us see the two characters interact more?



Beyond that, no questions. I'm already sure the gameplay and story will be good.

The solution is that Jack makes the game amazing so it gets a larger fanbase which means more hentai artists or people willing to commission them, to create the art that's missing. WORK WORK!

Yeah #1 is sadly true. We're fine with copious amounts of blood and violence for a "T" rating, but you show some skin and people clamor for an "M" rating...

Although I'd think as an indie title, don't you get a lot of freedom with this? Though I guess you'd lose the Steam access then... couldn't you have it as a "DLC" of sorts? As I recall, Creative Assembly used that to sell content that would've made their game M-rated, while retaining a T-rating.

On my site Loren is uncensored indeed, but overall, I ran into more issues than I thought. So to avoid going crazy, I think will make all future games more tame, since was too stressful dealing with all of this sorry

So, I've been lurking here for a while, being content to follow the progress and listening in on other people's conversations, but today I decided to register so that I could leave a reply here. For justice!



I'd never heard of Winter Wolves or any of your games until early this year when I, mostly by chance, saw the name 'Loren the Amazon Princess' on steam. Just having finished a game, having money to spare and a void to fill I decided to go for it, not really knowing what to expect. I've been a sucker for RPG games with romance ever since playing Baldurs Gate years ago, but I more or less lost interest in such games after messing around on the internet and being corrupted by certain games and comics originating from Japan...*ehem* enough said regarding that matter. Anyhoo, I was pleasantly surprised by Loren 1. The flirting and innocence really got to me, and more than once I went "dawwwwww :3". I loved the romance! However, I was a bit put off by the ending: "and then they hugged. The end" (oversimplification, but you understand, right?). I mean, all that story and romantic buildup, just to be cut off with a scene even a Disney movie would've thought a bit sexually lacking. That being said, it wasn't bad in any way...I just found myself left behind by the game while I still needed more. So, naturally, when I heard there would be a Loren 2 I had high hopes you would take the romance further, and maybe (just maybe) add a little more (like actual kissing before the final scene) while still retaining the innocence of it all.



So, here I am, on my knees, begging you for more romance in Loren 2. More romanceable characters is great, but one tiny, lonely (and sensually lacking) scene is torture! Give us the love! At least consider 1 aditional scene for each character, after the romance option has been locked. Or anything else able to make our hearts beat. Prettypretty pleeeeaaaase!

Never had any complaints about the romances before, congrats you're the first one!

I think there's more romance in Loren than Baldur's Gate or even the recent Dragon Age games, so while of course I will try to improve, more than 1 CG each character/romance would be probably too much, but there's still a lot of time before the game is out, so who knows!

I didn't mean to sound weird or come off as nagging...really...I mean, Loren's main feature is the romance. There's limited violence and skin, though the art and character design is beautiful. As such it's my personal opinion you should include more of what made the first game oh-so good. Loren 1 had me going from: "Eh. Sceptical, but I'll give it a try". To: "MAWR!!! Eh? It's already over? Butbutbut, it just got good!" So...yeah. More romance. Definitely. Even though I totally agree that you made a better love story than Dragon Age...and Twilight for that matter. Sorry. I couldn't resist

Maybe I'm just a sucker for a good love story, or a psycho (maybe a bit of both), but Loren 1 made me realise I actually like these games more than I ever thought possible. I had to play both the routes, and test the different romance options...for science, of course.

The picture may hint at me only caring about the boyxgirl options, but the game made me equally on edge through the boyxboy and girlxgirl. Oh, the tent-scene with Elenor and Chambara early on in her romance route...actually, let's not go there. I fear I'm already rambling.



Whatever your decision, I'll definitely buy Loren 2! But just saying, the more romance and flirting (shameless flirting in Chambara's case), the more I'll be shouting: "shut up and take my money!" the day you release it.

Yes I understand what you mean, however Loren (and SOTW for that matter) is primarily "a RPG with romance", not a dating sims also as you can imagine the big cast means that adding flirting to each possible romance takes more time. Perhaps in future will make a game with less romanceable characters, but a lot more interaction / longer flirting scenes, that could be an option for sure.



Also, the romances of the first game are going to continue in the second, so in practice you can see it as an "extension" of the first game love stories if you want

I think romance scenes have to reflect character of partners - gentle, not modest, courageous, proud, wild, artful and so dely (in mass effect scenes with Liara were ideal) I think so

Actually, jack, you came across as polite and objective. I was thinking more along the lines of what kind of first impression I made, seeing that my first post ever on this forum was to criticize you game.



I agree that you shouldn't make Loren 2 into a dating sim, that'd be taking things way too far and ruin your game. It should stay true to its "RPG with romance"-genre, but I still think you could take the romance-part a bit further without damaging your brand.

Like worgool says, it should reflect the character of partners...however ( ) , I wouldn't be one to complain if you made it major, badass, jawdroppingly hot...*cough*.

I really don't understand how I suddenly came to find so much pleasure in games such as Loren. I've always been more of the "heyho, let's go kill orcs", open a couple of cold ones with my male buddies, shoot from the hip in De_dust2, or play White Day (that korean horror survival game). Hell, I'm even capable of being entertained by those japanese things I mentioned. But now, suddenly, I find myself craving RPGs with amazing romance plots.

I'm really looking forward to buying your game. The fact that we'll be able to "continue" the romance from Loren 1 is something I find very cool! So get it done ASAP! I'll be waiting anxiously...something I'm not very good at, btw. Things somehow end up smashed.



EDIT: Oh, and of course I'm looking forward to Seasons of the Wolf, even if you've said it'll be shorter than Loren, and with fewer romance options. So much goodness waiting for me in the future :3

That's unfortunate. People are okay with partial or brief nudity on TV but freak out if they see it in a game (even with an option to skip it). They did add a nice touch though - so many games just end with a hug or a brief kiss.



Going off of what lilypuff mentioned, perhaps you don't need additional CG scenes, but maybe some of the ordinary story dialogue could change if you're in a relationship with a character. It's been a long time since I've played the non-Fost version so it may already be like this, but if you were in a relationship for Loren or Karen, perhaps the argument over who was to be the sacrifice would be a little different (more emotional/personal?). Just small things along the way so it feels like they are actually in a relationship and it didn't stop once they hooked up.

Guess what, I used to play predominantly Japanese games until I was pleasantly surprised that I can get such games in English these days. I don't really always mean the super hardcore Japanese games though I did played a few before, but RPGs with romance elements (or just purely romance-game) are pretty common in Japan....just that it tend to stayed where it is, within the Japanese market.



So I'm glad to have find my way here. ^^

Sadly if this will be true then maybe I will never buy games again from you as "make all future games more tame" is my main turn off point here.

Replied already in your other posts. In Loren 2 there aren't sexy outfits but the romance scenes are still quite sexy (fully naked, just not like Chambara's ones though ).

In all seriousness though, that was my favorite one, though I think i'm quite biased towards that from my personal experiences and tastes with my fiancée these past years.
