Two per day!?!

Lol, well then everything it's more clear now  you're a psycho crafter haha.

The thing is, that while testing myself, many days I was just studying and resting. NOT crafting jobs EVERY day :) A more relaxed way to play it. At this point then I think your values could be a bit higher but not even by much. I mean I cannot know how someone plays the game and it's better if it's slightly easier than harder (you can imagine people after spending so much time, wouldn't like to be unable to craft the final item because are missing 5-10 days...!)
myoksy
does the game include a complete recipe list?

I even have a use case: a job needs silver rune settings. no one sells them and I tried it at the mages' guild, maybe they have the recipe. but I don't even know the tier of said setting, making hunting down the instruction a very frustrating experience

resting? only needed when one is crazy enough to gather items : P

and my skill levels were more often than not higher than the max level studying can give.

the few times the RNG didn't give me jobs it was wait.. wait.. wait.. wait.. sleep.

No, I don't have a complete recipe list in the game, however the fact that you cannot find that setting could be to a mistake I did in last update: I removed all the items with tag "setting" (to remove the talismans/figurines) but I forgot that they're also used for the runes. So I'll simply bring those back on next update so you can find them in shops :)
myoksy
with the next shop refill I was able to buy them, so generally it works.

but the possibility to get a few basic infos about items would be nice. maybe below the title tag in the quick shop something like "(<skill> <tier>;)"
jack1974
OK, I am also changing the energy cost of gathering. I am thinking 10,15,25 (short, medium, long trip). I believe it's OK, since before the values were random but almost double on average :) so gathering will be useful again!
jack1974
OK did the new update. But I believe I'm basically done with this game. I'm waiting for some proofread file, and if P_Tigras want to do that alternative Cosmina route, but apart this I won't add anything big or make tweaks again :)

I would believe it's best in your interest to work on the other games. I personally played AMS in crafting once, was fun, but as Franka said, not to be repeated. Too long! I played all the next times as VN mode, so I could see the nice pin-ups :)
Franka
until about lvl 8 0.8.6, since then 0.8.7a. are skill levels like this expected? feels a little bit highish, especially as Franka described the leveling of all skills to 300 as nearly impossible (not her words, but something similar. I'm too lazy to look at her post).

In the old version, I spent nearly the entire young age crafting and completing jobs, and I didn't get a single skill to 100. The changes implemented have clearly changed that a bit too far in the opposite direction, but testing from scratch is, as Jack says, really painful, especially since you don't clearly see the result until a long time has passed.

There's a sweet spot somewhere, but it will take both pro crafters and more casual players to find it. :)
jack1974
Yes definitely! Though in this last update, reducing daily cap to 5 and slightly increasing crafting time, the young age should be almost back to where it was. I'd say people crafting madly could end around 150-160 skill which is OK.

In any case, if you were able to win in the old version, you'll be for sure in the new one. As for playing the game more than once in crafting mode... ahem! Now that I think about it though, even RPGs are rarely replayed from scratch (though I know people who played SOTW two or three times, but I think they're mad ).

by chance I saw that sometimes jobs are offered in the mages' guild (not described in the quick help) and special jobs in the adventurers' guild (I think those are mentioned in the screen description). but they are really rare - jobs in the docks and market are an option nearly daily, I saw the ones in the guilds only once (about a month or so in the adult stage?).

maybe I missed lots of them (as I wasn't aware of this feature), but it would be really helpful from a gameplay PoV when the player gets a hint about job offerings. maybe a green dot in the menu on the left for places with job requests?

something like this:

You get jobs at Mage/Adventurer same way as the docks/market, not "sometimes". If you got fewer then it's a bug :)

In which case I'd like the savegame, since I just tried and got a job at Mage's guild, did it, and the day after got another. So identical behavior as docks/market. You don't get them only in the weekends (but once again it's the same behavior as docks/market).

Maybe you're confused because there's a limit to the tasks you can have at once, so if you already got those in docks/market you didn't get the others. I will put a simple explanation in the tasks screen that you can have max 3 jobs.

There, on next update will display this text:

currently was bugged, I set the maximum jobs to 2, so indeed if you had already got one from the market/docks they won't show in mage/adventurer. On next update it will :) Thanks for finding the bug!
myoksy
a job maximum? good to know ; )
myoksy
okay, now that I started to look for jobs from bottom to top (starting with the guilds instead of the normal places) I can get them daily.

but I don't think your counter for the upper limit of simultaneous jobs is working : )

I can't see the full image (that site is super slow here) but I suppose you ar showing more than 3 tasks, it was related to the other problem and in the next update that won't happen :) (I just tried here)
myoksy
yes, 4 jobs at the same time.

another thing, more story-related: at some time my char says "Being the only Alchemist helps even if most people hate me now."

What happened to <whatshisname>? I don't think the story line explained that the former master left the town.
jack1974
Yes in some routes like Daniel's is explained but in others not, I'm going to change a few lines at end of young age, when she says that there are two alchemists shop in town. In practice Haros retires as alchemist: he is still an alchemist but works in the Mage's Guild, so Amber is the only active alchemist. This point was a bit confused in the writing and I need to make sure all the routes says the same thing.
myoksy
I botched together a lightstar amulet, got $$ signs in the eyes seeing the value, bought the stuff for a second one to sell it - and now I'm not allowed to sell it, even when I have one to spare.

you're cruel : P
jack1974
If I allowed selling it, that would be a cheat mode

Quick nitpick: move "maximum" to after "tasks".
