Okay this update was really exhausting  I fixed an insane amount of things. Of course I didn't even had time to touch the romance talks to add the CGs. I wanted first to get the gameplay thing done :)
Franka
I know I push for updates, but take some time off when you need it. Every time you release a batch of new cards, there's going to be extra work, both with bugs and balancing. A lot of new cards in this update, so a lot of work. I promise the game is going to be good when you're done. Too bad I can't promise the sales will be good.

I'll test the card fixes, tonight after work.
jack1974
Yes I will! And no worry your feedback is very welcome, so keep it going.

This is different from SOTW last year - I mean is still very tiring, but I'm having really fun doing it :) It's just that I need to learn to take a break from time to time!

The birds on mission 4 are all...attacking my wall. I thought ignoring walls was their thing?

Yes I noticed that, it messed up a bit when I did the changed to the AI, since destroying walls became more important (in case there are other normal units). It's really hard to do a good AI for such a game (and now I understand why Hearthstone went with multiplayer mostly).

That said it should be possible to fix it :)

This is quite amusing. Flying creatures were attacking my Minefield, and I was thinking: "Wow, that's some good coding since Flyers don't die to Minefield. Nicely done!"

Turns out it was a bug.

Yes, of course. I love testing card games.

...and I'm having a much better time testing this. Because I love card games! It's great to be part of balancing this game.

Domesticated Avian doesn't get +1/+2 for eating our own units.
Franka
I haven't been able to test Clear Vision properly (by the way, it still only works on enemies, and you need to update the card text).

Everything else seems to work as it should.

You need to make better decks for the AI side missions as we get on with the game. Palidrayans are ok, the other factions can't keep up with our new cards.

Haha yes right now in practice there's a "destroy wall quickly" AI node that gets in the way. I made some changes and SHOULD work, but they don't. So I need Anima help to fix it

Cool. I know I'll have already a good support for Undead Lily too then :)

Haha, I knew you were going to try that! I thought wasn't possible, but I seem to have fixed it here now. I probably should change the name "not-completely harmless domesticated Avian"

Hmm to be honest I might have forgot to review that card, will check tomorrow.

Yes I think I'll wait until I have all the player cards unlocked before making the 3-star missions (the hardest). I could do the 2 star ones already now though.

Oh, by the way, just tested, and it can eat itself!

Does it get the +1/+2?
jack1974
Even if gets it is immediately deleted so you can't see it

OK I'll need to change that too!
Franka
You probably made Domesticated Avian too strong, not only can you take out a big organic (I ate one of those 2/6 Boragrubs), but you get rewarded for it too.

I think it would be fine if we could only feed it our own units. There are still cool applications, like eating Domesticated Boragrub/Sergeant, Volunteers, any unit that has had its Attack decreased, or units that are about to die anyway.
jack1974
I can always set a limit. Like, eat a common/uncommon organic creature. This way they cannot eat a powerful enemy :)

Or even do as you say, but the usage would be limited... mumble mumble
Franka
Well, I think if we compare it to Snipe, you may see the small issue.

Snipe: 2P/1M/1C Deal 4 damage to target non-Wall enemy unit.

Domesticated Avian: 2P/1E/1C Kill target Organic unit. Summon a 4/6 Flying unit. Next turn can attack any enemy target for 4 damage.

Even if we eat one of our own units, we stil have a 4/6 flyer, which is pretty huge, and might well be a better use of one of our seven unit spaces.

Or it might be ok if we summoned a 3/4 Flying unit that could optionally kill an enemy Organic, with no stat increase, though that would still be pretty strong.
jack1974
Maybe I could lower base stats? so if you summon it, you're basically forced to eat something because otherwise would be too weak? and I could restrict it only to common targets (or friend units only) ?
Franka
1/2 (un-upgraded), gets +1/+1 after eating enemy (and optionally our own unit if we want to) seems better to me, yes. We'd be back at upgraded 3/4 Flying, but we got to kill an enemy too.

2/3 (un-upgraded), gets +1/+1 after eating our own unit would probably be ok too (we lose a unit who might be bigger, but then we boost a Flyer to upgraded 4/5).

I'm not really proficient in rarity of the enemy cards (haven't paid much attention), so that would probably depend on how often you see common targets? It's definitely something to keep in mind if future enemy Organic units become much better than current ones (there are already the big worms and the huge Marada warrior), targeted instant kill easily becomes too strong.
jack1974
Ah yes you're right, for the enemy I just put a generic "alien gem" symbol  but I should show the rarity there too (since works like for players).

I will go with the first solution then, I think too is the best one :)
Troyen
Are there specific restrictions on eating type? Like, can I eat a 0/1 wall that's about to die?
jack1974
No, though I'll set it so can't eat rare or better units. Because it could cause problems later in the game. Like:

Epic battle against Shiler who is in the battlefield herself as card! 9/9, double attack, force shield, etc.

Domesticated Avian summoned, eat the Shiler card. You won!
Franka
It's restricted to eating Organics, so if it's a Spiked Iron-Vine at 0/1, go ahead and it eat. That's part of the ability. :)
