Okay I finished nightmare too now.
Fabulaparva has no life to finish it before me, obviously.
Jariel's mana song is a complete gamechanger. I will definitely build every party around the idea of eventually having that if you don't change it.
Riley's reward was great. The others I probably would just sell without looking if they weren't legendary. Being legendary, I will look at them twice and then sell them. The sword is closer to useful than the bracers.
Also 9/8 quests - by counting in quest log - though I can't recall getting the "set bonus", nor can I recall all the counter getting near 8 actually, I think it was at 5 before I headed for the arena for the last time. 9/12 explored sounds right too.
And I think I have 10k gold worth of crap to sell. Oh and when was I supposed to get access to special items from a family?

Awww noes I had just finished the upload! but yeah I saw it too... going to look now

Well if doesn't break everything, I would like to keep it. Maybe nerf it a bit. Need to see in Act3 using some of your powerful savegames

Ah why? I checked the sword stats and thought were powerful but maybe I didn't get the best equipment... I can tweak that though, those items should be all powerful!
OK then maybe I should raise the XP you get from enemies overall during this act
So Yeldin wasn't tough for you either. Hmm I think to make it work as I have in mind I really need Anima's new magic AI (I want him to disrupt/debuff all your party )
fabulaparvaJul 14, 2014
Anyway, I'm going to go on like this. I checked the hours amount I spent on this game and is insane, double than Loren and I had already the engine ready and knew it well. I will already raise price by +$5 when I release it, but if I spend even more time then I should price it at $50 to make worth my time, and it would be a commercial suicide, so... nah won't ever touch again the combat code. Only tweaking skills will be enough, will probably already take a week of works just that minimum!
Well, with the current price, this is a marvellous steal.

u mad, bro?

I've got a 32 damage hammer on Krimm. The sword has a little more attack, crit and speed, but it's not like ZOMG. I bet I could somewhat easily reload roulette a better one; her 32 damage hammer is only level 9 (though rare).
Bracers: -4 atk -5 defense -9 magic +10 spd and +25 paralysis resistance. Maybe I was unfair and they might be worth using (especially considering attack cap) but again I wasn't all whoa. I was all whoa about Jariel's quest reward and Riley's necklace.

Haha I think he meant it as compliment. I was surprised how quickly you finished it too! Though I think the bomb-cheat had a big impact, right?

Hmm OK. No I want WOAH effect on all those items, they're supposed to be powerful!! going to change some stats
The bracers are keepers. The sword, not sure it's whoa yet. Upgrade though. It's probably quite whoa for people who didn't get Krimm a 32+ damage weapon already.
jack1974Jul 14, 2014
Well but it also has +3HP regen! and big defense bonus. Also the 10% critical I think is quite high for a weapon.
yayswordsJul 14, 2014
10% crit is high, but as far as I can tell a crit is just +25% damage, so it averages out as a 2.5% damage increase, which isn't even enough to give it +1 damage (meaning a 0 crit 36 damage weapon would be better). Crits aren't very exciting in SotW :D I'm used to crits meaning double damage, but Chalassa's damage cap and guaranteed crit skills allowed me to easily check what the bonus was here.
jack1974Jul 14, 2014
Hm damn. Do you have a save with Chalassa super attack? I want to try some things about the damage. No promises though
yayswordsJul 14, 2014
The one I sent you is as good as any. Just use the party to buff her up. I never got her any better equipment after that (she has her starting gear except for weapons). Did remarkably little shopping in act 2 actually. Needed to do more casino, in retrospect. Ended with a fortune but no upgrades for sale.
jack1974Jul 14, 2014
Yes but the one you sent is too early, I still have to do Riley's and Krimm's quests... ideally would be something toward the end, so I can just find a mercenary group and massacre them
yayswordsJul 14, 2014
I must have sent you the wrong save then. Those quests should be done and merc groups should be everywhere. Chalassa not in the group?
Hmm, I really can't see how it's the wrong one. I'll resave it I guess.
jack1974Jul 14, 2014
Yes the last one was good. I made a small change but that will make you happy: when you reach the damage cap, you still do +1 dmg every 5 points of difference between attacker's Attack/ defender's Defense. This way, I have control over it and doesn't lead to crazy values, but still doesn't make useless trying to reach high attack:
also it applies only from Act2 forward, so I don't need to worry about act1 being unbalanced again
5 dmg of difference in the screenshots might not seem much but considering those are the basic attack, in two rounds you can do 10 dmg more than before, so I think I don't want to go higher than that "ratio"!
yayswordsJul 14, 2014
Make it 10:1 if you like, I'm happy as long as increasing attack always does something although perhaps I would not have used this approach myself, but it is a simple one.
I'm gonna say something about characters anyway. Krimm is weird to me. For a while I thought she was just Amukiki 2.0, the nomadic warrior with a moronic obsession with honor. Then there's this victory at any cost attitude, and as the game progressed I found it was a rather diffuse line between when to be honorable and when to do anything to win. In her flashback she was particularly... wrong. Like Leif, who she actually desired, lost in a fight to her. There was no mention of her even considering letting him win for their relationship's sake. And when he was banished she didn't care. Culture dictates it.
And there was the moronic nomadic warrior back again. It's extremely tiresome with these characters who are the living ideal of their culture, much like Amukiki who wrestles 20 dragons before breakfast and then eats the strongest one, and more importantly commits suicide without a second thought when you point out he has sworn conflicting oaths.
I want a character out of these tribes who buckles under these expectations, who questions them. Not the Tribe Member of the Decade.
jack1974Jul 14, 2014
I don't know if Taleweaver wants to add something, but I am not commenting on Krimm for now, since... towards the end there's a big plot twist about her past
