I think I need to reduce the number of days allowed for grinding by a lot

Or should I leave it as it is, if people find it fun to do?
Franka
I ended up with my fighting team at lv25. Except Vaelis, because I'd left him out of it for a while. This is purely due to the "secret" grinding spot, but without optimizing encounters. I have 357 giant snake skins...

Then a bug occurred. After time ran out, it started going negative.

I'm pretty sure this grinding is really silly. You could easily reduce this to 10 days, probably less, and people would still be able to take a rest if they needed it. That would still allow you to grind to about lv22-23 though.
jack1974
10 is too low since after some quests days automatically advance, but I think 15-20 should be good. The negative counter keeps going if you rest again? like -2, -3 etc?

General feedback:

Including act II, I'm very pleased about the length of the game so far. I don't know how long Act IV will be, but I'm happy there's a lot to do.

I switched to Easy early on, because there were so many battles it was taking far too much time to get anywhere. There were no challenging party battles on easy in Act II, some were ve-ery long though (inflated HP and mobs with resurrection). Act III had a few minor challenges, mainly kraken and the last boss fight (the stats must have been crazy in that one compared to the rest of the Act). Some flashback quests had fights that were challenging on Easy, but they might have been avoidable, I chose to go fight pretty much everything I could in the whole game.

As for the story, even though it's very diffuse (no set goal in Act III really), there were some laugh out loud moments, I appreciate that. In my sorry opinion the volcano schtick got really old from the third time onwards though, but hey, humour is subjective. Rowinda was otherwise generally awesome, and the only mage I allowed in my party.

I spent a lot of time shopping and optimizing, maybe more than I needed to on Easy, but you can't take the min/maxing out of the seasoned role player, so kudos on providing a bunch of items to play with. I ended up with a lot of damage and speed so I could grind faster. If I could make one complaint, it's annoying that you can't see what you've got equipped when choosing quest rewards.

I romanced Chalassa, that worked out well, and nice one with the choice of boss fights in the "save the yuri" quest. Got me interested in what happens to a certain piece of tail in the future.

Alright, this was my "play as intended" game, now I'm going to go break stuff and play not as intended at all. After I've rested my eyes and head after that snake grinding that is...

EDIT: Oh, and typos and stuff coming later.

Yes, but I had 26 days left after doing everything, and only resting when forced to. That number could be reduced to 10.

And yes, I can keep resting endlessly, making the counter go lower and lower (and grinding MORE snakes!)

Yeah fun, sure...

It's more like a burnout trap.

I'm sorry, but an uncaught exception occurred.

Ok will reduce the days then, since the levels people get are too high anyway!

The crash was because I stupidly divided an integer by 1.25 so became a float and python complained

Act IV is shorter, but still several battles / places to visit. I think honestly nobody will complain about the game length 8)

When used from the frontrow, throwing manticore poison will give two hits on the enemy's frontrow: the damage done will reflect the weapons you are wielding (for example, I inflicted 30 normal damage and 55 fire damage on walking dead using manticore poison in one fight (critical hit).--- backrow zombies were hit only once). When thrown from the backrow, every enemy is hit only once.
jack1974
OK I'll check that tomorrow!

Finished Act 1 (for the first time in months) on Nightmare as Druid/Ranger. Liked the tuning in general. I actually ended up using the tavern a few times this run, though I didn't need to stoop to potions. Mormont by far was the hardest fight (took at least a dozen tries to figure out the right strategy), but definitely doable.

Couple things though with the trial page. (Yes, I have a code that I'll enter now, but first...)

The very first screen showing off the amazing artwork in act 2 looks slightly less impressive than I expected:

http://i.imgur.com/SMrzTpH.png" style="max-width:100%">

The line "So many questions, and there is only one way to find it out..." should be "find out" (no "it").

I clicked "Maybe Later" and found your new, more aggressive marketing strategy. Apparently previews of the full game aren't enough. If someone refuses to buy at the end of the trial, http://imgur.com/zg18Wj0.

Sidenote: I had some issues with your store last night, but it's hard to get detailed instructions to reproduce without accidentally buying the game again. Namely, when I filled in my info, it had a fit that I didn't log in and sent me a cleartext password via email so that I could log in and use the exact same billing information (except I had to fill in half the fields again). No way to check out as a guest? Also, the SotW store page doesn't list the difference between the normal and deluxe editions.

On the activation page:

Title should be "One-time activation" (hyphen).

Text should say "and press the enter key. Note: make sure you're connected to the internet!"

"Please type:" is a weird label. Shouldn't this be something like "Email/Code:"? Also, I don't think there's any reason to pre-fill this with "none" since I have to delete it before entering my key.

No "Activate" button? I almost clicked the "main menu" button before I checked and found out I had to press enter.

I spotted a few typos on item descriptions when I was in the Act 1 store and didn't write them all down. (So testers, if you see any typos, help note them since some items don't always appear!)

What I could catch on a reload:

- "Amethyst", "Aquamarine", "Agate", and "Ruby" aren't capitalized, but all the other items seem to be. Basically, check all the gems.

- Aquamarine's and Agate's description should say "...to make a few gold."

- I think Ruby's description should be a "large sum" or a "fair sum" instead of "good sum", but not sure if that's just me.

- Potion of Minor Restoration - you say "HPs" here, but I think "HP" would do and would match the text everywhere else.

- The ruined pelt should probably say "poor condition" instead of "bad condition".
jack1974
Thanks for the grammar/typos fix :) and yes I removed a background forgetting that I used it in the buy scree  I've now used another one still present in the game.

Ah this is new. I submitted report to Ren'Py coder, since the command I use is nothing special and was working in previous versions!

Yes, I need to explain in the game page the differences between normal/deluxe since right now is confusing. As for your store issues I can indeed test as guest myself, going to try now!

So I completed nearly all the quests but Rowinda's, and when I get the " Go see your hometown " quest, I click on the arrow and it ends up flipping me a " don't have scene 22 " something, was this mentioned earlier? I can't really send anything now because I'm currently on the phone, cheers.

Yes, I need to explain in the game page the differences between normal/deluxe since right now is confusing. As for your store issues I can indeed test as guest myself, going to try now!

The scenario I tried:

1. I've previously bought other games from your store (but it was a couple years ago, so I don't know if you've changed stores since then).

2. I selected credit card.

3. I saw the thing about logging in and decided to check it out, not remembering that the password is different between store and forums.

4. I got an incorrect password error after trying the wrong password twice.

5. I gave up on logging in and just filled in all my credit card info. The email address I used is the same as the one I used for your older games.

6. When I clicked to purchase, I instead got a page saying a password had been sent to me, even though at this point I wasn't trying to log in.

7. Some cleartext number password was sent to my email address.

8. Clicking purchase again without logging in just sent another email to my address with the same password.

9. Logging in with the password worked, but undid half my information. (It cleared the month but left the date on the card expiration field, for example.)

10. Purchasing this time actually sent me an order confirmation, but I had to click the button twice (this might've been my trackpad, not sure).

During all this, I wasn't sure if I was buying one copy or four copies of the game from all the "purchase" clicking, but fortunately only one copy was charged.

You finished the act, the only thing you missed is the "next act not ready yet" message, although you should have seen that if you had the latest build.
jack1974
Will ask BMT about the store issue, my guess is that since you failed the password two times somehow triggered the "resend password" thing. Will let them know.

And yes if you see an error at end of act 3 means you're playing an old version, but you're not missing anything :)

Ran into something weird. Not sure if it's a bug but this is in Act 2 after doing Chalassa's quest and now I'm wandering around town doing some shopping and some random battles. After I'm done, I try to go back to the Arena but I'm not allowed to because my twin says that more exploration needs to be done. Am I missing something at this point?
