Ancestor is kind of a big word no??? It gives the impression that the games happen centuries before PS or the reason for using this word is to hide something (His parental link with Damien or....)

No because while I never told explicitly the age of Rebecca, she looks young (no older than 30 for sure, even if of course with manga art all is a bit relative!) so is not possible, because in PS1 you play as nephew/niece of John Nelson, so a gap of two generations

Always thought Rebecca was in her late 20 or early 30, since she is a sargeant she would need to be a veteran soldier.

And its not only one generation? John, Alex, Diama, Damien dad, Lola generation to Joshua/Lisa, Damien, Rebecca generation

The fact that you call Damien's relatives his dad made me realise that it was logical that Lola wasn't rebecca 's mom.



If she was then she wouldn't be a love interest(well right now she isn't) becausse it would imply that rebecca may be of "nelson blood"if romance by alex(romance by Diana is another story), and it would make a big plot hole with the "Joshua/Lisa is special because s/he is the nephew/niece of John Nelson".

Depends how you think it, normally nephew/niece means is the son of son, no? (I am a bit tired but I think is correct )

So it COULD be (just making a random example eh):

Diana/Alex/John Nelson -> Random Wife/Husband Nelson -> Lisa/Joshua (niece/nephew of John)

I think Jack originally planned John to be the grandfather of Joshua/Lisa, but instead wrote newphew/niece in the game

Yes, it is confusing because in italian (my language) there isn't such difference so that's why was confusing. Anyway been thinking with Miakoda about some possible suggestions, since in PS1 I always wrote niece/nephew...

I think the best course of action will be a slight ret-con for Planet Stronghold, changing Joshua/Lisa to be a great-nephew/great-niece in Planet Stronghold 1.



The other option is to move Alex and Diana back one generation, and this could mean John is the son of one of them. Since PSCD is in such an early stage, I don't mind doing that



And I understand where you are coming from Jack1974. Many other countries/languages can use a general term without getting more specific, especially beyond the most immediate part of a family.
