I would think the only romance routes that have a "fall in love" part will be for the new ones, such as Selith, Breza and Jul?

Yes, for the others in the beginning of the game you can choose the existing relationship, and when the story starts you're together already. That of course doesn't mean that there can't be some moments of fight, problems, etc!

But of course! After all, if you had a prior relationship, it's going to all about maintaining it instead of kindling it! Should be quite interesting. In the meantime, I shall amuse myself with my silly little writings...

Well I don't know haha. One thing is sure, if summer next year is like this one (with an insane heat which put both me and Aleema KO for almost 2 months) you can consider lucky if the game is finished next year at all. The expansion since will be quite big for sure in 2014. Is weird to be talking about 2014 as release date. Let's just hope the Mayans weren't right! The world can't end without a Loren 2.

Of course the Mayans are right! They know when their calendar starts over

Hopefully it won't be quite that insanely hot come summer for you all next year, do you have any people from where the seasons are swapped?, then you could have progress all year round!

Well from what I know (though I am no expert) it was quite uncommon for Aleema that heat - in 2011 she was writing Spirited Heart Girl's Love during the summer without problems. So hopefully 2013 will be like 2011 for her. Here sadly it's more common. To be honest I always reserved the Summer to take a break from things, taking advantage of the heat to go outside more, etc. The problem was that this year, even at 800m on sea level, there was 34°C !!!

so I couldn't even do my usual trips in the mountains nearby since I was always exhausted. Hopefully it was just a bizarre event and won't repeat in the next 5-6 years

Thanks for answering my questions and I seem to have most right but very curious about some of the thing but those quest can come later. I wondered one thing though. If say five years have gone past (Selith was a little girl in the girl so some time had to pass) When you have made some of the characters over they look older where older don't. Myrth, Draco, Mesphit, Breza and possibly Chambara (because of the dark witch thing But she has had one and you told us why.) I can see not aging much but Amukiki, Loren and Karen it's a little strange (Saren we have seen the change

).
Or maybe I have the time scale wrong and me question is mute.

Well maybe lizardmen grow up at quicker pace than humans. They live a short but intense life!

I didn't ask artist to make them older in particular, I think is just a different pose. Let's say 5 years have passed, I don't think it should have such a huge impact on people. So if some characters looks older is definitely not intentional!

It's nice to have a tiny change though. I can't wait to see what happens next though no matter what they look like. Bring on the previews
I still like my Torza story

it also would make sense why he can only romance Elenor as well

because you wouldn't go back in the past to...

Erm...

You know...

With your... Father.

OMG there are so many more romances to choose from. It might take days for me to figure out who should choose first....

DAMN! You really expanded the cast!

Yes basically kept all the first game romances + added new characters!

will take a while before it's out and for sure will need to split it in two parts, but will be a cool experience

That's what I'm thinking too! But oh well, that just means that the replay value is greaaaaat

I will forever love you for this! I was worried about some of my favorite characters would be excluded (selfish much? haha!) and that we wouldn't be able to continue a romance from the previous game, but this....... waiting for the sequel will be pure torture now! When was the estimated release date? Somewhere next fall? Aksjdsdhflsjflsjfsdjf
Oh and a quick question! Are all characters getting new designs? *pleasepleaseplease say yesssss*

You need to love Aleema as well since she was the one who convinced me to keep all the old romances

Yes they are getting new designs, I mean right now almost all have new designs. I have to decide about some of them. Amukiki gets a new REAL armor for example but the base image is the same. In any case, I am planning to have a different pose during the "camp talk" so that will be a new pose for all romanceable characters!
Estimate release, I think we'll get into 2014, sorry

Then I'll love Aleema forever too! Actually, I love everybody involved with the creation of the Loren games
Yessss, that's just what I was hoping for! But 2014? Oh man, that'll be one long wait... But there'll be other game releases in the meantime, so I guess I'll be able to endure the long wait. But still... DAMN!!!

I know, but think that Loren started in Spring 2011 and was finished in Summer 2012. And since Loren2 has much more romances and will use a new RPG system... Anyway unless you really hate sci-fi, Planet Stronghold 2 will be written by Aleema too and has some nice artwork, and the romance CG in particular are awesome (in particular those for women I'd say are even better than those in Loren, maybe because the artist is a woman too).

Just my two cents added at this early point in case some adjustments might be considered. Not really a fan of the guy to guy romances. As its' not something one sees in most games, I wonder if the percentage of such romances need to be as high as it is. Roughly about half right now, yes? Just an example to clarify my point. Say that 10% of the audience enjoys these romances. Thus suggesting to me that you'd roughly have 10% or a bit lower of the romances be guy to guy.
I think it's great that you try and include something for all your fans. Just suggesting that the balance may be a bit off. These are paths for me anyway that I'm not really interested in. Thus making it harder to justify the expense of the game purchase. Knowing a number of paths are ones that I won't even pursue. Anyway, just a suggestion to consider while you are in the early stages of the game.

Reader, you seem like a nice guy, we're grateful that you're a player, and I'm sure you're not the only one who feels that way. However, I feel pretty safe in saying that the amount of BxB will not be altered in this or future games. You didn't mention GxG romances and I assume it's because you're kinda all right with them, since it's a stereotypical male fantasy. For a lot of girls, it's the same way with BxB. Of course, those romances are first and foremost for the homosexual audience, but I can't say they're exclusive to them. But the point is that the estimate of 10% is off by a lot. If we have BxB content, people who appreciate that content will buy the product. It's really that simple, unless you're implying that gay people don't play certain games or like certain genres? (I'm sure you didn't mean that, I'm just making a point.)
What Jack is trying so hard to do is help erase the marginalization of people who are constantly told they don't matter. That they're only 10% so they should only be respected 10% of the time. I know that you weren't saying that, you're only saying what is natural to you, but it's a frame of mind that comes at the expense of others. Having BxB content in the game shouldn't matter, since if you don't wish to pursue it then it won't happen, and I personally have no problem writing all the variations myself and I will strive to treat each one equally. If you were mentioning this out of concern for us, don't sweat it. If you're worried that the price is going to increase exponentially because some male characters are gay, then don't sweat that either.
