Maybe you can do the character transparent, with the backgorund on its back it will seem like the character is invisible.

Yes I thought about this, need to see if they're still "visible enough" to notice what enemy is (in smaller display the names aren't shown). But could work.

the upgrading system. Though we're really thinking about changing the "normal" color to be bronze, so it's more different vs silver
it's also possible to add a new "trait" on level ups, but I am not sure will use it, since would be too powerful and probably unbalance the game...

Maybe an expansion idea: as an alternative to gaining stats they could gain a trait?

Ah no that is fixed. In practice have 3 upgrade levels (as pictured above). On each level up I can define what happens. Usually increase attack or HP. I can also add trait, but traits are really powerful. Like if I add a double_attack or force_shield to a unit... would change its usage in battle a lot
For the DLC, I'm thinking to do a mini-adventure (sort of mini-campaign) with some extra cards. The other characters, which aren't playable in the main game, could become cards (Kaden, Lucius, etc). I think would be already fun and not much work (I already have the normal character art, from which I can make the cards). I don't want to make the DLC as big as a separate game considering it has already same romances amount!!

added invisibility effect too, a sort of floating mist over the card image (yes quite similar to Hearthstone, but works well!).
I tried with semi-transparent but looked bad. Now need to do a couple more things like highlighting better the cards who have moved/who can still move

All my hopes is in the Saren x Loren epilogue not being retconned. If it is, I know there will never be a BxG Milf in any WW games

Maybe Karen can be opened up as a BxG in Loren 3 or in a future Loren 2 DLC. It's not like she isn't attracted to men...

Nevertheless she is said to be "middle-aged" and in her "autumn years" while her son who you work for is 10 years older than your character. For that and reasons I can't get into without dropping spoilers I'd put her at around 30 years older than your character, which makes it quite different from the usual.
I'll also agree that if there is one epilogue in Loren I don't want changed, it's the Saren-Loren epi. IMHO theirs is the best epi in the game.

To me it's all about the story, and the characters being true to themselves. Michelle and Karen have very different personalities. With Michelle there's a feeling that while she may like men, she either prefers women more, or finds them more in sync with the life she wishes to lead. Either way it was a mature decision on her part. She reminds me a bit of all the high profile men who have left their wives for a man once they came to the realization that they preferred men. Except in her case the shoe was on the other foot.
With Karen on the other hand, there's a feeling that she's gone back into the closet when it comes to liking men, because she's ashamed, and that's just plain wrong. Think about it. Her culture teaches that men are slaves fit for breeding but not committed long term relationships. Yet she loved a man so much she was willing to turn her back not just on her power, but also her people, and even her family, to be with him. Then when he died in a terrible event she tries to kill herself, but being prevented from that, she returns in shame, and goes back into the closet, becoming a good amazon once more. "And then she went back into the closet forever" doesn't sit well with me as a place to end her development in those stories where you play Saren. I don't think denying her true self will be any easier for her than it is for a gay man or woman today...

This is a background originally used in Roommates. In the context of the picture, the human colony has some areas which remind them of Earth, especially if they are domed.
There are definitely other climates on Stronghold, but it is an arid planet, so deserts are definitely the most common.

the symbols on top are the heroes. I will try with symbols (Diana=tiger, Charlotte=rose, etc) and if it's not very clear will revert back to portraits. Artist sadly cannot work faster than this, but can't complain about the results so far!
