Yes, exactly that.

I searched everywhere in the script but can't find the sentence where it says "you're not a ranger like your father"? :( if you can tell me where it is would appreciate it!

And yes, will fix the graveyard bug too :)

Vaelis: "You two? But you're not rangers like Morran!"

Better: "You two? But you're not experienced forest wardens like Morran!"

(implying that "forest warden" is like the Ranger prestige class)

Thanks, fixed :)

When playing Althea and not telling Shea about the wolf, after Shea is taken prisoner, in Althea's conversation with Morran:

Morran: "It's simple: had he told me about HER pet wolf..."

Should be "his pet wolf".

Also, Vaelis' Leap Attack does ridiculously low damage - around 5-7 points, max. Is that intentional? (I tried using it both in the fight against Mormont, and against the goblins, with the same results.)
jack1974
Will fix the typo!

As for the damage, you're playing the last version? I had changed it raising the value, but maybe I need to change it again :)

0.8.6c is the latest one, right? I'm playing that one.

It's quite easy to test: Put a Ranger in front of Mormont and use Strikethrough. That should Stagger Mormont. Now leap at him with Vaelis, and don't do damage -_-
jack1974
Yes that's the latest. Will try then! The problem is the damage penalty that is applied because you hit a character in back row, so need to mess a bit with parameters :)

I'm not sure about that. Magic damage seems really bad at causing stagger too.

I noticed this too, though I initially thought this was a http://www.winterwolves.net/viewtopic.php?f=40&t=3344&start=230#p24608 - the 40 dmg mentioned was caused by a Druid's spell, other damage types raise the stagger value much more.
jack1974
Ah yes, Magic attacks staggers less than other attacks types. I can change this, but since mages are quite powerful already I thought to add this change to balance it a bit.

BTW started working on Act 2 battles today :)

(those are mercenaries, that's why you see an enemy party made of human/elves).

uh, I would hope that fighting humans is as accepted as fighting orcs...
jack1974
Ah no, not arena mercenaries, but sort of bodyguards of the families of the town :)
yayswords
I think what Jack meant it's why you see a combination of humans and elves in the same party, not that it should be unorthodox to fight either of them.

Also magic damage has sucked at causing stagger for as long as I've played these games :P

In Dingirra, everyone's fair game...

You should add some extra text for the case that the party has 0 gold when meeting the bandits.

"All right, you win" (You paid 0 gold coins.) - "Good, you can pass now." is rather stupid :)
jack1974
Haha true. Going to change it, so that if is 0 they won't let you pass (I could make it even minimum 10g, but since is an early battle don't want to be too bastard).

I'll raise again the stagger done by Magic by a bit on next update!
yayswords
I don't know that you need to change magic and stagger. I'm scared of any change that would make Mormont's back row even stronger.

Tiny detail I noticed, maybe this has been reported before?

+If you choose to fight the pelt-stealing bandits (surprise attack), Vaelis will stay outside of the cave when you check the pelts: On the screen you'll see only the twins. Makes sense.

+If you choose to bargain a deal with the bandits, Vaelis will declare that he'll stay outside again. You'll still see Vaelis on the screen the whole time as the dialogue continues. Doesn't make sense. Also, afterwards, when the trio heads out out of the cave, the bandits still stay on the screen up until the end and the only thing that changes, is the direction Vaelis faces.

Unless there will be repercussions later in the game on such dishonesty, it really pays off to strike a bargain. C'mon, no fighting, + 500gold and the only thing you lose is one completed quest! (Of course, that 7/8 quest log is hard to accept for a perfectionist like me. :P

yayswords
You get bonus experience if you complete all 8. And you get 370 gold if you steal pelts after kicking their asses, plus 100 for the completed quest. Plus whatever they drop...
fabulaparva
That's true. For easy money and instant cash to buy better equipment for other fights that might still be a viable option.... of course, savefiles help to go around that...

Storyline changes might still be worth it, though, if there are any.
jack1974
Going to check the sprites, strange that they stay on screen :)
