As you know if you read the blog or got the newsletter, I've officially started making Spirited Heart sequel. Sleepykitten (or Sarah since that's her real name!) is writing the stories and she said loves to see work-in-progress screenshots. That explains this:

usually I don't post such early WIPs, but I know she likes to see them, so...

I'll update the thread even if for now I don't know yet when the game will be out, many other things to do first!!

How are you planning on making it a sequel, especially with so many of the same characters? (Eee! I'm excited about the girls! /fangirl)
I don't think we can import our saves from the original Spirited Heart, so is this meant as more of a 'sequel in spirit' (similar to the first game, but updated), starring a new main character (even if we have the same demon, elf, and human archetypes), or are we pretending the first game never happened?

We're pretending the first game never happened

It's going to be a much improved version. There are 12 male characters, so twice than the first game (not sure yet if all in the main game or in an expansion). The simulation is going to be much deep, with lots of skills, levels up, etc. Much of it is still in planning stage though the current features list is:
- leveling up skills, once you reach 99 in a skill you gain a level up, this way the game is going to last longer
- SIMPLE combat and possibly some kind of dungeon exploring

- SIMPLE crafting of items
- minigames for each job, though are all variations of the base minigame with different skills to use (you'll see what I mean)
- different town districts each one with his own benefits
- after you marry you can still continue the game
and so on...

Cool. Looking forward to new updates. Spirited Heart was one of the first games I ever tried from Winter Wolves, and while it's not one of my favorites (Loren!) it was quite charming.

I do. That made me so happy (/^▽^)/ \(^▽^\) (/^▽^)/
But yea, as Jack said, it'll be an improved version over the original with a lot more content added. ^^v The writing is going at a good pace, too, I think.

What you don't like grinding !?!?!?

It will be grinding but quite different, with more variety. At least that's my current idea. In practice each level is 100 skill value so to reach a job ending you'll need to get 10.000 points in the specific job skills

but is not as bad / boring/ grinding as it seems. Wait and see!

If you are doing that- can I ask that we get skills even when we fail skills?
In other news- is there any way we could get this game as browser based? Like the first game's demo?
Because I would be happy as a clam to pop down 19$-29$ on Google Wallet to be able to play this game on the sly at work through chrome

.
Also- can we have all the Yuri included in the core game, no DLC needed?

Yes no decrease if you fail skills, will use another method. About browser based not sure yet, need to ask a coder friend if he's willing to port it (see my other reply to your question). Curiously that you're the only person I know so far willing to pay more for a online only version (usually is the opposite!).
The yuri version is not even planned, because the new character artist is quite slow, he has still to finish the boys yet... and the game is HUGE compared to the first one. There will be 12 boys, but already the first 3 had more writing than the first full game!! So if I had to include the yuri with those "standards" the game would cost $69 and take 4 months more to write/code

There will be more yuri games anyway in future, don't worry!

Doesn't really depends on me, however since the game isn't planned before next year, maybe in the meanwhile artist can finish some more images

I know I'd happily buy SH2 when it comes out, if that would help support towards creating a yuri/yaoi version of the game later on.

If there would be a girls' love-type expansion later (like there was for Spirited Heart) I'd take a gander at it.

Well you can be sure that will try to do that. I would really like to avoid having a different artist do the female version like happened for the first game, since I really can't stand different artist in the same game, but as last resort... I guess I'll have to accept that
