Dead But Alive 1.0f - beta

Post by jack1974 » Mon Jul 27, 2015 4:19 pm

Buy the game here: http://winterwolves.com/deadbutalive_so ... ngland.htm

Version 1.0f is up! You can get it two ways:
1) PATCH FILE ONLY: if you have already previous version installed, just download this patch file to update it:
http://www.winterwolves.com/download.ph ... _1_0_f.exe (150mb)
it has been made using Patchmaker, a freeware patching program.
2) FULL DOWNLOAD: if you haven't the previous version installed, the full download is here:
http://www.winterwolves.com/download.ph ... E-1.0f.exe

What´s new:
- Added volume adjustment options for music and sound effects
- Other change: You can only start one instance of the game. If there is already one running in the background, you'll get an error message.
- Other change: The tutorial message coming up when you do not use the breaks in the slot machine now only does come up on the first and second day of the game (Day 6 and 7).
- Fix: Removed the option "Return to main menu" from option screen
- Fix: Sometimes the tutorial message telling you about the slot machine breaks did appear faster than after 5 seconds
- Fix: There were still problems with texts being cut off on diary text messages.
- Fix: Gender reference in the team management screen
- Fix: Some typos in the game (* * instead of [ ])
- Fix: Typo fix (a large quantity of food)
- Fix: When exiting the game in the combat screen while the slot machine was running by pressing ESC, the taskbar did not reappear

old saves does not work with new versions ?
i've tried to load b on f and no reaction.

i was able to start more than one romance,is that normal ?
i don't have anything against my own harem in zombie apocalypse, but i fear it's a bug and it will break my game.
Spoiler:
goin' north is the end of the beta or the game ?

Right, sorry about that. You can download a conversion tool for the savegames here:
http://www.macgames.biz/games/DBA_Saveg ... _1-0-d.zip

(To make sure you can always switch back if something goes wrong, please use a different filename for the converted files)

Yes, you can have more than one romance in the same game. The game has been designed that you can have all romances in one game, if you make the right choices.

It´s the end of the game. To continue the story in Scotland requires a lot of new artwork. We are planning for a sequel to continue the story.

Hi, sorry if there is some stupidly simple fix to this but ever since the first beta release I haven't been able to load up the game. It opens the little logo and then just stops responding eventually after not doing anything at all.
Thanks for your time!

Check the previous beta threads, some people had this problem because had antivirus program running in background that caused the game to freeze on startup.

Can you see the logo coming up? There is a progress counter in % below the logo. Can you see it and at what percentage does it stop? Thank you.

Some others ideas I found.

If you see the game as running in Task Manager, try right clicking on it and selecting "Bring to Front" and "Maximize."
(quoted from http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/575 ... -open-help)

Or this one:

which suggests a clear Windows boot: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/929135

I can't help but be reminded about Crossed: Wish You Were Here webcomic.
